West Sussex extends from Gatwick in the North, going east to include East Grinstead then south, down the eastern side of Haywards Heath, Burgess Hill and Keymer before popping across the A23 between Pycombe and Patching. From there we go west, behind Devil's Dyke and then south, to the sea near Southwick. An intersting boundary for an arbitary one.
Once we reache the sea we turn west until we reache almost Hermitage (west of Chichester). Now we turn north, staying east of Petersfield, south of Liphook and Haslemere before heading east again. We pass north of Horsham, Crawley and Gatwick airport before completing the trip at East Grinstead.
.... wonderful countryside all the way!

The administrative centre of West Sussex is Chichester, the only Anglican Cathedral City in the county (Arundel has a Catholic Cathedral). With the exception of the Gatwick/Crawley conurbation West Sussex is, essentially a rural county.
