Victoria Park |

Situated in South Road, the main street, is the main park in Haywards Heath. With beautiful views to the South Downs, there is a football pitch, three tennis courts and a childrens’ playground and benches from which to view the activities of others! The park is also host to many of the activities held in Town Week, Haywards Heath’s annual ‘festival’ which is held each summer. |
Dolphins Centre
This is Haywards Heath’s main sports centre where there are swimming and diving pools, a sports hall for volleyball and basketball, cricket nets, five-a-side pitch and short tennis court, short mat bowls, badminton, squash, table tennis, snooker, sauna and steam rooms.
Beech Hurst Gardens
Set on the outskirts of Haywards Heath, has facilities for bowls, tennis, pitch and putt, netball and hockey. Set amongst delightful grounds with views over to the South Downs, Beech Hurst Gardens also boasts a restaurant and miniature railway!

Cycling
Haywards Heath itself is for the determined rider as the terrain is undulating but the fine views and beautiful countryside make it worth the effort. It is relatively easy to get away from busy roads in the area. Springtime, when the bluebells cover much of the local landscape, is a particularly attractive period of the year in which to undertake cycle rides in the area.

As part of Mid Sussex’s Millennium Projects programme, the Worth Way, west of East Grinstead, is being improved. This will form part of the Sustrans National Cycle Network project whereby an 8000 mile network of cycle routes across the UK will link traffic free paths and minor roads to form a safer, high quality network for cyclists, walkers and others.

Dancing
In and around Haywards Heath it is possible to participate in almost any kind of dancing that you could reasonably desire. Line Dancing in Warninglid, Latin American, Old Time and ballroom dancing at the Dolphin School and Rock and Roll disco at the Hayworthe Dance School.

It is possible to fish at many places around Haywards Heath including Cuckfield, Ardingly and Slaugham.

As might be expected, golfers are well catered for in the Haywards Heath area. There are a number of clubs in and around including Haywards Heath Golf Club (which is situated in High Beech Lane on the road up to Ardingly), Paxhill Park, Cuckfield, Hassocks, Cottesmore and Burgess Hill. Just a few miles further will take you to the courses overlooking the sea.
Go-Karting
For those of an adventurous nature, about ten miles down from Haywards Heath, in Hurstpierpoint, is located the nearest go-karting track.

On fine days the skies above the South Downs, only ten miles or so south of Haywards Heath, seem to be full of hangliders and paragliders. For those wanting to risk life and limb, the companies specialising in these activities are based in Brighton! |
Horse Racing
Plumpton is about ten miles away from Haywards Heath and a few miles further takes you to Brighton Racecourse. Lingfield, Fontwell and Goodwood are within easy reach. The All England Show Jumpimg ground at Hickstead is about 8 miles away.

Sailing and windsurfing can be indulged in on the Ardingly Reservoir and a short drive takes the visitor to Brighton Marina with its wonderful facilites for marine activities.

Squash
Squash can be played at several venues in Haywards Heath including The Dolphins and Sawyers.
Swimming
The Dolphins centre in Haywards Heath is the obvious place to choose to swim in the area. It has a 30 metre pool, a teaching pool and a diving pool. A few miles down the road, in Burgess Hill, is the new Triangle Centre.

Tables are available for use at the Dolphins Leisure Centre in Haywards Heath
Walking
A multitude of walks are available both from Haywards Heath itself or by taking a short ride and then leaving the car to wander around the beautiful countryside of both West and East Sussex. One of the most delightful walks is along paths through the back of town up to Ardingly Reservoir.
Yoga
There are yoga classes held all around Haywards Heath.
