The main hospital, The Princess Royal, was opened in 1993. It is fortunate enough to have retained its Accident & Emergency facility unlike most NHS hospitals! It also has a neurological facility, Hurstwood Park.
There is also a private hospital, The Ashdown, part of the Nuffield Hospital Group, near the station.
